The great JERRY LEE LEWIS is scheduled to appear at the 100 Club on Saturday 25th October, 2008 for a very special, private event. We have a small number of tickets available for sale. This event is not being advertised and tickets are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Once they go, that's it.
The price of tickets is £138.50 (including credit card fees where appicable). I know it's steep, but once V.A.T. is deducted and Jerry Lee's fee, plus transport, hotel, permits and equipment costs are taken into account, there's simply no room for manouvre and no guestlist. Much as I want to do this gig, I can't afford to subsidise it. If you are not completely sold on the idea of seeing Jerry Lee Lewis in a small, atmospheric venue like the 100 Club, then PLEASE DO NOT BUY TICKETS. He will be appearing at a larger London venue around the same time, though this has yet to be confirmed and the event will not be as intimate.
So that no one gets the wrong idea about what is happening, here are the details of the gig:
1. The event will be on Saturday 25th October, 2008 at the 100 Club. Doors open at 6.30pm and the club closes at 10.30pm before opening again at 11pm for a Northern Soul All-Nighter. Jerry Lee Lewis and the Killer Band are scheduled to perform from 8.45pm. It will be a 'secret' gig and will not be advertised anywhere. Please remember that the 100 Club is not a seated venue and that your ticket guarantees admission but not a seat.
2. Jerry Lee Lewis is 73 years old and in that time has lived the equivalent of three 'normal' lives. He is appearing throughout Europe in October and November with his regular US band, led by the great Kenny Lovelace.
3. Jerry Lee Lewis & The Killer Band are contracted to appear for 1 x 60 minutes, although it is unlikely that Jerry Lee himself will be on stage for more than 40-45 minutes. A special guest support band will be opening the show and there will be a star DJ. Be prepared for a few surprises, but hopefully they'll all be pleasant!
4. The legal stuff: tickets cannot be refunded under any circumstances unless the event is cancelled or the date moved. Security measures will be put in force to deter touts.
